What if you don’t love the idea of where it comes from?
For some people, the thought of having a real animal pelt on the floor is less than appealing, which is entirely understandable.
Luckily there are options out there that are 100% animal product free and look almost like the real thing, sometimes better.
Even if you are ok with real sheepskin, the faux fur option can be better if you want a product that is an exact shape, size, or color.
Companies make all sorts of faux sheepskin fur products, and many of them are easier on the wallet than real sheepskins.
When it comes to cozy, no one should be left out.

Ashler Faux Sheepskin
This first faux/fake sheepskin rug has my favorite version of the classic looking natural pelt style.
The company also has rectangle, round, and double pelt options, but I like the single sheepskin.
The faux fur is what they call Mongolian faux fur. Mongolian sheep are known for their long curly hair.
This rug’s hair is not curly, but it is longer than most other fake sheepskin rugs that I’ve seen, which is why it’s considered Mongolian.

The hair is 2 3/4 inches long, which is what makes this sheepskin look so good.
It spreads out, giving the entire shape a fuzzy appearance, and it seems larger than it is.
The rug itself is 2 feet by 3 feet, and you are guaranteed that size, which is a massive pro for buying faux rugs.
The hair is 100% acrylic. The bottom is fake leather that is soft and will grip hard surfaces and carpet making it safer to walk on.
The materials used are of good quality, especially for the price.
And they have multiple colors to choose from, so there’s an option that will go with any color scheme.
To clean, you can use a vacuum or shake out the rug.
When it needs to be washed, you can use a washing machine but don’t use high water temperatures, use mild detergent, and let air dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
If it needs a little extra help to be fluffy again, you can use a wire brush to fluff it up a little.
The Ashler Faux Sheepskin is the perfect option if you want a sheepskin rug with longer hair.
It spreads out beautifully on any surface and feels amazing underfoot.

Chanasya Faux Fur Fake Sheepskin
Chanasya makes a unique 2 feet by 6 feet or double sheepskin style rug.
It has a very realistic double pelt look that is a nice break from the traditional rectangle rug.
The softly rounded sides look like clouds and give a warmer appearance than hard lines and edges.
The fur is 100% microfiber polyester, so it’s one of the softest faux furs on the market.
The back is a thick 100% polyester suede that acts as an extra pad for your feet and grips hardwood and carpet floors.
It also holds its place on couches and chairs better than blankets or throws.
The length makes it more versatile in use as a rug as well as a throw.
It can cover an entire couch or run along the side of a bed.
Depending on the application, the longer double pelt style could be a better option than the single pelt.
The Chanasya Faux Fur Fake Sheepskin is machine washable and can be tumble dryed on low heat or air dryed.

Walk on Me Quad Pelt Faux Fur Sheepskin
Every company has its way of making sheepskin rugs look realistic. This take on the traditional quad pelt is one of my favorites.
It measures 3 by 5 feet at the widest and longest points with rounded sides that look like 4 actual pelts sewn together.
It’s all fake, of course, but doesn’t look like it.

This is one of the higher end faux fur sheepskins out there, and the quality is what makes it worth it.
The fur is acrylic, and the bottom is a non-slip latex/rubber backing, which is something no other faux fur rug company is doing.
It’s the safest sheepskin rug to walk on you can buy.
There are also multiple sizes, colors, and shape options available that include singe pelt, double pelt, rectangle, and even octo (8) pelt.
To wash, use a washing machine on the delicate wash cycle with cold water and mild detergent.
Do not use fabric softener. Let it air dry or put it in the dryer on low heat.
Durability and attention to detail are the two main things the Walk on Me Quad Pelt Faux Fur Sheepskin rug has going for it.
Sometimes faux fur sheepskin rugs don’t hold up well after being walked on over and over again.
Walk on Me stays true to its name with this sheepskin that is made for walking on.

Leevan Faux Fur Sheepskin
Leevan has another excellent take on the quad pelt style with a bit of a twist.
One side is straight, to make the sheepskin better for areas in front of couches, beds, and walls.
I love it when companies try out new designs on classic rugs, and this is a winner.
The rug measures 3 feet by 5 feet and has a white suede backing, which means this will work very well on a bed or couch and is not just for the floor.
As you can see from the pictures, this faux fur has some bulk to it.
It’s very fluffy, soft to walk on, and holds up well compared to other faux sheepskin brands.
There are also round and oval shapes available and multiple color options to fit any decor or style.
It is recommended to hand-wash the Leevan Faux Fur Sheepskin in cold water and to spot clean whenever necessary.
There may be some shedding when it’s new, but a quick vacuum will pick up any loose fibers to clean up any loose threads.

Because it’s so dense, it’s going to keep the fluffy look longer than other faux furs and can be used in higher traffic areas.
The backing is non-slip synthetic suede.
