How To Care For & Wash A Flokati Rug
100% Wool Flokati Rugs are the most work the first few weeks after purchase, and they are expected to shed up to two weeks until the fibers settle.
They are a natural product, and you may need to wash them directly after purchase.
To wash, put your flokati in your washer, use the delicate cycle on cold, and add a small amount of mild detergent.
Then let it air dry avoiding direct sunlight. Afterward, brush until the rug is fluffy again with a sheepskin brush, or if you don’t have one, a hairbrush will work as well.
For regular cleaning, take it outside and give it a good shake. Also, brush as needed to keep it fluffy.
Remember never to vacuum these rugs, especially when they are new, and have not had time to settle.
