How do I cut memory foam?
When cutting memory foam the most important thing is to make sure it’s not made with fiberglass.
None of the memory foam toppers on this list contain fiberglass and will be fine to cut but some cheaper larger memory foam mattresses do contain fiberglass and you don’t want to open up and cut that kind.

The thinner the foam the easier it is to cut. Mattress toppers can normally be cut with just a large pair of fabric scissors.
Just make sure you remove the cover, if it has one, first. If it’s too thick for scissors box cutters work well just make sure you cut little bits at a time.
Can I fold the mattress topper inside my sleeper sofa?
If you didn’t buy a mattress topper that is too thick you should be able to fold it up with the mattress in the sleeper sofa.
You may even be able to keep the mattress topper on a futon if you buy a cover for it so it will stay in place when you incline the backrest to the seated position.
